Course Overview

This Engineering Technology Management programme was created to provide learners with an essential combination of engineering and management abilities that are critical skill sets required in Industry.

Graduates will be crucial in designing, controlling and managing challenging projects and tasks such as innovative products, developing sustainable global systems, efficient processes, and developing entrepreneurial skills such as creating new business models to support high-value manufacturing settings. Engineering Technology Management graduates will develop the technical expertise of engineers combined with a comprehension of the business and industrial environment and the capacity to develop creative solutions.

This program was created in response to a market need for professional engineers who are also proficient in entrepreneurship and management.

Employers are in high demand for Engineering Technology Management graduates for various positions across multiple Industries such as medical, pharmaceutical, aeronautical, automation, design, Agri and food etc.

What are the entry requirements?

Leaving Certificate

A minimum of 5 O6/H7 grades in Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish.

Mature Applicants

Candidates applying as mature applicants may be required to attend an interview and may be requested to take an aptitude test to prove their suitability for a place on this programme.

International Applicants

International applicants should apply directly to the International Office at TUS, allowing plenty of time for completing the visa process. Applications for September start should be made by 1st June at the latest to ensure visas are processed in time. You should familiarise yourself with visa processing times for your country of origin to ensure you make a timely application. Find out more here.

Graduates in Engineering Technology Management can find excellent employment opportunities in a variety of industrial fields, including aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer and industrial goods, food and beverage, and service fields like logistics, transportation, and consulting. They include opportunities in business analysis, technical marketing, and project management in a variety of engineering fields, as well as manufacturing system design and operation, lean engineering, mechanical engineering, Innovative product design, CADCAM, process and methods engineering, production and materials management, quality, and manufacturing engineering

Following successful completition of this programmes, students have the opportunity to progress to the Level 8 Honours Degree in Engineering Technology Management at TUS, subject to availablity of places.
