Change to Minimum Maths Entry Requirements for Courses in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Applicants should be aware that, as a result of programmatic reviews, there has been a change in the Leaving Cert Maths entry requirements as follows:
Level 8 Courses
Entry Requirements: A minimum of six Leaving Certificate subjects, i.e., 2 at H5, 3 at O6/H7 grades including English or Irish, and a minimum of a grade O4 in Ordinary Level Maths.
This new entry requirement affects the following Level 8 courses:
US900 – B.Eng. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering
US903 – B.Eng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering with Computer Systems
US902 – B.Eng. (Hons) in industrial Automation & Robotic Systems
US901 – B.Eng. (Hons) in Renewable & Electrical Energy Engineering
Level 7 Courses:
Entry Requirements: A minimum of five Leaving Certificate subjects, i.e., grade 06/H7 in four Leaving Certificate subjects including English or Irish, and a minimum of a grade O5 in Ordinary Level Maths.
This new entry requirement affects the following Level 7 courses:
US750 – B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering
US751 – B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering with Computer Systems
US753 – B.Eng. in Industrial Automation & Robotic Systems
US752 – B.Eng. in Renewable & Electrical Energy Engineering
