This programme is aimed at non-business graduates who are interested in starting a creative enterprise, looking to advance their careers by achieving a qualification in business with a focus on the creative industries sector or supporting the advancement of creative graduates into other sectors where organisations are increasingly hiring creative graduates for their creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and innovation capabilities.
Applicants must possess a primary honours degree or equivalent.

Portfolio should demonstrate creative ability. This might include, but not limited to, drawings, craft skills, traditional and digital skills, sculpture, photography and examples of past creative projects or previous work. The programme welcomes applicants who might have an existing creative business as well as those who are considering establishing one in the future.10 good images and descriptions is adequate. Add interactive links if you wish to showcase video work. The specific contents of the portfolio are to illustrate a sample of the applicant’s creative work.
Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPL) will be granted based on relevant experience and training in accordance with TUS’s RPL policy.
This is a Level 9 postgraduate diploma award. It is expected that candidates would be comfortable with technology. Ideal candidates would be those with previous design experience that may require enhanced technical qualifications to further their career. Prior experience with technology would be an advantage. This understanding is usually demonstrated with a portfolio of previous work or RPL.
Successful candidates will then be called for an interview.
New Enterprise Creation

The aim of this module is to allow students develop the business skills necessary to extend their understanding of enterprise and design within the context of a creative practice. The module caters for students who have an existing business as well as those considering establishing a new creative enterprise. The module aims to take students from business ideation to establishing considered business propositions.

The aim of this module is to offer post graduate students the opportunity to develop practices with an awareness and understanding of collaboration, professionalism, and negotiation in response to a range of problem-based scenarios. This module will provide the opportunity for students to develop informed work practices that will allow them to manage sustainable creative businesses.
Students will be encouraged to undertake organisational roles, set business targets to solve problems in the following areas:
Finance & Strategy

The aim of this module is to introduce students who might not have experience in finance to the core principles of business finance and accounting. It will provide learners with an understanding of Corporate Governance together with an appreciation of business ethics encompassing topics such as law, politics, management, finance, and economics.
The module will cover topics necessary to build a resilient, sustainable and ethical creative practice.
Communication for Marketing

This module is intended to assist students in understanding and using modern marketing tools and in applying these tools to identified situations. Students will be asked to research and apply marketing theory. Problems will be used to engage students in the analysis of situations and the development of solutions; this will require a depth and breadth of knowledge and the acquisition of skills reflecting those used by professional practitioners.

In this module, students will understand brand consistency and how to maintain it. This module examines brand architecture, setting a brand strategy, streamlining content creation for aligned campaign activity, and monitoring performance for continuous improvement.

Feasibility Plan
Credits: 10
This module aims to develop themes and ideas covered in modules 1-5 and how they can be applied to explore the feasibility of a new or existing creative /cultural practice. The primary source of the feasibility plan will be working to a brief, that seeks to place a creative/cultural enterprise as a viable commercial venture.
Although each project will have unique goals and needs, below are some outline practices for conducting a valuable feasibility study:
On completion of this course, the aim is that students would have the tools to start a business and be self-employed.
Possibility to continue onto Masters programme and complete an additional 30 credits. Details TBC – will be provided and updated on course webpage once they become available.
TBC for 24-25
Class time is expected to be 2.5 days per week/16 hours.
Delivery method will be predominantly online (75%) with onsite classes in LSAD (25%) which will take place for 2 days at the beginning and and of each term (4 days in total). Attendance of the on-site classes is expected, as it is an important element of the programme to develop a network of creative businesses.
Provisional on-site classes for Semester 1 are Thursdays & Fridays at the beginning of term.
Online classes will be recorded and available to watch back.

Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning Hours. Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college. The balance between these two varies by discipline, and by level of study. You should bear in mind that the workload will increase at particular times e.g. when assignments are due.
