Course Overview

This innovative programme is designed to enable managers across all sectors to integrate health and wellbeing into their working environments. Health, leadership and wellbeing are becoming increasingly important for companies to maintain a content and productive workforce. Specialists in workplace health and wellbeing will become essential agents of change within organisations.It is particularly suited to those working in Health Promotion, Human Resources, Management, and the ever-growing corporate wellness industry.

This programme allow managers to evaluate, integrate and promote health and wellbeing among their staff. The topics will include nutrition, physical activity promotion, mental health, behaviour change and project management. Content will be delivered through blended learning, comprised of online lectures, live tutorials and in-house workshops.






This programme is Springboard+ funded in 2023. Successful applicants in employment qualify for 90% Springboard+ Funding and will be liable for the balance of 10% fee of €660. Successful applicants on a qualifying DSP payment qualify for 100% funding. Springboard+ is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF programme for employability, inclusion and learning 2014-2021. What are the entry requirements?

1. (a) A minimum PASS honours bachelor degree Level 8 in a cognate discipline or (b) A minimum PASS honours bachelor degree (Level 8) in a non-cognate discipline with considerable experience and/or ability evidenced by an RPL portfolio of prior experience and learning or (c) Equivalent Qualifications. Applicants with equivalent qualifications on the European and International frameworks will also be considered. International students must evidence a proficiency in English language (IELTS 6.0).

2. Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) / Special Case Registrations: Prospective participants who do not meet the entry requirements for the programme detailed above, but who may qualify for admission by meeting certain other equivalent criteria, should submit their application online, upload their most relevant qualifications and then email springboard.midwest@tus.ie to request RPL consideration.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements. For entry to undergraduate courses, a minimum score of 5.5 in an IELTS exam is required. For postgraduate courses, a minimum of 6.0 is required. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure their English proficiency meets these requirements.

    Live online tutorials will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.30pm to 8.30pm for 12 weeks via MS Teams. A playback option will also be available for these tutorials. There will also be 1 workshop on the TUS Thurles Campus per semester (TBC)

  • Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning Hours. Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college.  The balance between these two varies by discipline, and by level of study. You should bear in mind that the workload will increase at particular times e.g. when assignments are due.

  • All modules will be assessed via continuous assessment and will take the form of assignments, group tasks, presentations etc. – no final exams taking place.
