Department of Polymer, Mechanical & Design
You know that Mechanical and Polymer Engineering is a growth industry with excellent employment prospects and a growing need for graduates. You know that renewable energy is one of the biggest engineering challenges of our time.
The Department of Polymer, Mechanical & Design at TUS Athlone Campus offers a range of certificates and degrees designed to meet these needs.
We were pioneers in polymer education in Ireland, and have contributed to the development of many major polymer technology industries in the Midlands, such as Athlone Extrusions, making our student placements truly valuable.
We offer specialised degrees in mechanical and polymer engineering and another in mechanical engineering and renewable energy. We are the only technological university in Ireland accredited to award PhD qualifications in polymer engineering.
You will use the latest equipment and technology, including an industrial 3D printer, in our purpose-built, state-of-the-art Engineering and Informatics building.
Many of our courses are fully accredited by Engineers Ireland and our honours degrees are recognised for entry into Postgraduate Diploma of Education programmes.

Department of Computer and Software Engineering

Myriad employment opportunities exist within this growth, well remunerated industry – from video game and app development, and cloud storage, to computing
for business and network engineering.
The Department of Computer & Software Engineering at TUS Athlone Campus offers a wide variety and combination of courses, many of which are accredited by Engineers Ireland and others incorporate qualifications from CISCO systems.
